LEU AUXILIARY POWER UNIT (APU)
for CHARGING BATTERIES

Operationally, the CVR(T) main engine is only used to propel the vehicle for a very small percentage of the time that it is turned on.

The majority of the time when the vehicle is static on silent watch the engine is set on fast idle to charge the batteries to power the radio and cooking pot etc.

This prolonged fast idle running can very substantially reduce the life of the drive coupling, clutch assembly/gearbox input module components, cooling fan, tensioner and belts etc.

Solution - fit the LEU (Life Extension Upgrade) Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) - Switch off the main engine when the vehicle is stationary - if it is turned off it cannot wear out !

The LEU APU is a further development of the S 2000 APU which over the lifetime of a vehicle can easily pay off for itself in repair costs, let alone fuel consumption.
