LEU MODERN HULL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND PROTECTION |
OLD SYSTEM NEW 'ALL-IN-ONE ' SYSTEM |
The CVR(T) electrical system was designed in the 1970's using 1950's/60's technology. As a consequence and in comparison to modern vehicles the system is over complex, unreliable and expensive to maintain. Many items are now obsolete and faultfinding is hampered by a large number of distribution boxes and connectors. Circuit protection uses 'antique glass fuses'. The Repaircraft PLC LEU Modern Hull Electrical System is a split charge system to charge both the hull and turret batteries independently and simultaneously. It uses proven modern commercial 'off the shelf' components and all circuits are circuit breaker protected. Most importantly, the entire electrical system is in one box, the Drivers Instrument Panel-Electrical System (DIP-ES), making it simpler and much more reliable. |
